The Potential Well
A region surrounding a local minimum of potential energy. In the narrative, this is the Pit/Prison where Joseph finds stability by being “hidden” and “contained.”

Providence interpreted as a gravitational field. It pulls “down” not to punish, but to center mass and align the system for maximum stability.
